This time of year our phone is ringing constantly from homeowners battling ants. A bit of advice for those of you out there dealing with this issue. Have you checked to see if there are overgrown trees next to the house with limbs on the gutter or roof? Vines or English Ivy growing up the arbor or downspouts of the house? Or maybe excessive amounts of pine straw or mulch up against the foundation? these are just a few examples of how ants can form a bridge onto an into your home. Controlling excessive amounts of vegetation around your property and having these conducive conditions resolved around the house will give ants, roof rats, squirrels, and many other pests a lot less of an opportunity to invade your living space.
